Verindas

Verindas is a son of Solgarde and Lunara, and his religion is the youngest significant tradition in Kyrell -- young enough that there are communities who have never encountered his priests, young enough that his institutional structures are still forming, young enough that his followers have the particular energy of people who have found something they believe in before it has become settled and routine.

His theology has two pillars that are in productive tension with each other. The first is joy: his followers are called to be sources of it wherever they go, to treat the cultivation of happiness as a genuine spiritual practice. The second is truthfulness: above humor, above comfort, above the desire to be liked, his followers must be honest. Sweet truths and bitter ones are both required. The combination produces a specific personality type -- people who are genuinely warm and also genuinely difficult to manipulate, because they will not tell you what you want to hear at the expense of what you need to know.

His symbol is a laughing face. His followers consider this either very simple or very deep, and argue about which interpretation is correct with the kind of good humor that suggests they do not consider the argument urgent.
