The god-knight Solgarde defeats Halina, the first daughter of the universe and oldest creature in existence, in a titanic clash. As reward, he is permitted to create a world from her corpse. He calls it Kyrell. The first peoples — humans (made in Solgarde's likeness), Halvaen (Elves, from the trees), Thwarch (Dwarves, from stone), halflings, and gnomes — come into being.
