Kajima (The Varekate)

An island nation off the eastern coast of Dracomere. Insular, ancient, and governed by codes of conduct so thoroughly internalized that outsiders often mistake Kajiman politeness for coldness and Kajiman deliberateness for arrogance. Both misreadings are understandable. Neither is accurate.

Kajima is the cultural origin of most monk training on the continent. It is considered inscrutable by mainland standards -- insular, honor-bound, and governed by codes that outsiders rarely fully grasp. They trade through the Coastal Confederacy and maintain formal but distant relations with everyone else.
